How Was Your Sound At Your Last Event?
This is a good question to ask yourself. A more important question would be, did your audience enjoy the show? Did anyone comment on how great the sound was or how great the performers were?
The point is, if you have good performers coupled with great sound, your customers will take notice. Even with the best performers, if the sound quality is bad, their brilliance will not shine through! When the sound system is not what you desire, knowledge of how to improve the system and possibly contract a sound engineer is crucial.
First of all it is necessary to understand that the sound system is simply a tool used to carry the communication of a performer further. That's it. This can be achieved without any degradation of sound quality or harmful sound interference. The ultimate goal is to have the emotion created by the performer carried far enough with at least the same level of emotion, if not more.
Sometimes people think they need the biggest and best sound system they can find. This is not taking into account the real goal which is to contribute to the communication of the performer as effectively as possible. There are many different ways to accomplish this and if you keep this purpose in mind, you will consistently achieve success with your sound system.
ONCE the purpose of a sound system has been understood, it is critical to evaluate how to improve the quality of a sound system:
Is your sound system good enough?
Is the Brand of your equipment recognized in the Industry?
Is everything connected correctly?
Is the sound man a professional?
Is your sound system loud enough?
Is your sound system too loud?
Do you have any feedback problems?
Do you have Subwoofer speaker units to cover the low-end spectrum? (for music only)
These are some questions you can ask yourself to determine if your sound system is capable of the demands. A good reference can be to play a CD you know very well, and correct the sound until you are satisfied. You can use this technique before the event and make all the sound adjustments you need. The major complaints you will receive from your customers are: too loud, feedback, incomprehensible speech, too much bass, treble too aggressive. This is why it is important to hear a CD you know on the sound system first.
Also, it is better to have 4 speakers at half power than 2 speakers at full power. Especially for your guest located in front of them. Structured like this, the sound is equal in the rear as well as the front of the room. It is slightly more expensive, but it will please your customers! (Meaning no complaints about the sound!!)
Try it and create very satisfied customers while securing their business for the next year!!
Sincerely,
